South Africa Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy establishes the regime that regulates the rights to carry out mineral and petroleum operations in the Republic of South Africa.
Regulatory Authorities
The Petroleum Law Nr. 21/2014 and the Regulation for the Licensing of Infrastructure and Petroleum Operations Decree 84/2020 of Mozambique are the primary legislations that
regulate the construction, installation, modification, replacement, and demobilization of petroleum facilities, including storage and transportation facilities. The Instituto Nacional de Petroleo (INP) is the regulatory authority in Mozambique and responsible for the administration of these two legislations.
The Gas Act 48 of 2001 (the Gas Act) is the primary legislation regulating the construction and operation of a gas transmission, storage, distribution, liquefaction and re-gasification facilities or the Pipeline in South Africa. The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) is responsible for the administration of the Gas Act.
Acts as the driving force to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations and maintenance of the ROMPCO MSP pipeline on a day-to-day basis.
